My art is a way to express how I feel about the world around me, and to communicate to others the beauty I see in nature, landscape, wildlife and faces of people I care about.

My chosen medium is acrylic paint, and trees are a favorite subject. From the gnarled trunk of a fallen giant, to the stands of poplar on the prairie, each has its own story to tell. Water is another subject that seems to speak to me. It is life-giving, and nourishing; it can be raging and rushing, or calm and reflective. All these aspects I desire to share with my viewer.

My purpose in painting is to reflect the beauty that is inherent in all created things. Life and everything in it is comprised of light and shadow. To truly see how the light illuminates the subject and then reproduce it for others to take in and appreciate, that is my ultimate goal.
