Michele's education in art began in 2006 at a Calgary art studio. Being fairly new to the art scene, she is learning much about composition and style and is finding joy in realism, contemporary impressionism, and the abstract. As she develops as an artist, she wants to explore different ways of mixing media to declare the beauty of the world around her. She has been a guest artist at several Show & Sales in Calgary and has been a presenter for an art workshop at a local elementary school. One of her major projects was to design and paint a forest scene measuring 24' x 20' as the backdrop for a theatre production. Michele was part of a two woman show at the Okotoks Art Gallery in October 2009. Her works have been commissioned locally and are part of private collections here in Alberta, as well as Saskatchewan, New Brunswick and Colorado.

Michele has been a bit nomadic. Born in Manitoba, she spent most of her childhood in Montana and Nebraska, and then finished high school in Saskatchewan, where she also took her nurses training, graduating in 1986. She and her husband moved to Alberta in 1987 and they have lived in Calgary, Canmore, and Cochrane. Spending so much time on the prairies, Michele has a real appreciation for sky and space, as well as the mountains and foothills of her present location. Michele now lives in Okotoks with her husband and two teenaged sons. In addition to painting, Michele works as a nurse at the Foothills Country Hospice.
